The Interior and Transport Minister Florencio Randazzo reaffirmed today the Government “has taken leadership in recovering the national railway system”.
He confirmed the state-run company Sofse will be the service provider for Mitre and Sarmiento lines referring to the resolution 1083/2013 published on the Official Gazette.
Both services, which serve the City and Greater Buenos Aires, had been in private hands following the dismantling of the state-owned railway system in the 1990s.
Randazzo stated the “Government has taken charge to solve” transport issues and admitted: “People still don’t travel well, but we are working every day to improve the public transport system and better conditions for passengers”.
