Plaintiff rejects ‘sadomasochism’ versions in Ángeles case

PlaintiffThe Ángeles Rawson murder case is reaching unexpected turns. The party-appointed expert witness of suspect Jorge Mangeri implied a sadomasochism-like relation involving the victim and her attacker to explain the genital injuries revealed by medical reports. Following the shocking allegations, lawyer of Ángeles’ father filed a complaint considering the expert has violated the “Convention on the Rights of the Children.”

In a TV interview, psychiatrist Adolfo Méndez considered that the injuries Ángeles’ body showed “are not only produced during sexual attacks” hinting at the possibility of a «sadomasochistic relation» between the 16-year old and Jorge Mangeri. “AS a psychiatrist I have been in contact with people who have sadomasochistic sexual practices and show the same injuries,” Méndez told reporters angering Ángeles’ family.

“The only victim is Ángles. The (medical) report is decisive, conclusions are categorical: Ángeles died in the hands of her attacker and his name is Jorge Mangeri,” ex attorney and current lawyer of Franklin Rawson Pablo Lanusse said as he severely questioned Mr. Méndez’s comments.

“The attacker strangulated her with his own hands in a sexual context,” he added and accused the psyquiatrist of «violating the Convention on the Rights of the Children» and “disrespecting the memory of Ángeles.”

Ángeles Rawson’s body was found in a CEAMSE sanitary waste landfill back in June. Jorge Mangeri –the superintendent working at the victim’s building where she lived with her family-, remains in detention being the only suspect of the brutal murder.
