Victory Front candidate in Buenos Aires province Martín Insaurralde considered today’s PASO elections “historic” and praised the opportunity for 16-years-olds to vote. Insaurralde’s ballot partner Juliana Di Tullio said fraud allegations are “not a surprise.”
“I am happy. This is a historic day because youngsters will be voting for the first time. We are strengthening 30 years of democracy,” the current Mayor of Lomas de Zamora told reporters who waited for him as he casted his ballot at a school in the provincial district of Banfield.
Insaurralde’s ballot partner Juliana Di Tullio also praised Argentina’s democratic process granting citizens the possibility to vote “every two years.”
“That is why we must vote with joy and commitment,” Di Tullio said and added today is a “very special” day for her, already a Victory Front MP, who is expecting to renew her parliamentary seat in October.
“There is still a long way ahead in equity and social inclusion matters,” the head of the Kirchnerite caucus at the Lower House told reporters as she dismissed opposition fraud accusations. “Fraud accusations come every year, except when we lose, so they don’t surprise me,” Di Tullio affirmed.
