Santa Fe province to pay part of reconstruction cost after Rosario disaster

santa feSanta Fe governor Antonio Bonfatti has announced an additional credit line for residents of the area in Rosario affected by the recent gas explosion.

The official, speaking in a press conference held on Thursday afternoon, signalled that a count was made of the 200 people living in the zone and that they will be able to access credit for repairs to their homes.

«The Province will take care of the damages to these lovely buildings. We will grant subsidies of $20,000 so that residents can rent for an appropriate time period and also a credit of $50,000 for furniture,» Bonfatti explained, alongside Rosario mayor Mónica Fein.

The governor added that «the cleanup tasks in homes will be carried out by specialist personnel» and that «residents will only be able to enter accompanied by the specialists.

In the case of demolition being necessary, Bonfatti stated that it would be «the provincial government’s responsibility.»
