After being a fugitive for the last six days, a federal court finally lifted the arrest warrant pending over former Transportation Secretary Ricardo Jaime, who must now wait to go to trial in the case investigating the over invoicing in railroad works for the Belgrano Cargas train company.
However, an arrest warrant issued in the Córdoba province remains active.
According to judicial sources, judges Eduardo Freiler and Jorge Ballestero accepted the defendant’s plea to lift the warrant. His attorneys had advised him “not to turn himself in” until this whole issue was resolved.
Jaime remains a fugitive since last Friday, when judge Claudio Bonadío ordered his arrest.
The judges who ruled in favour of Jaime said there were not enough “reasons” to stay the warrant.
