During the traditional dinner with the officers and leaders of the Armed Forces, President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner announced a 24% raise in salary for its personnel.
After designating Agustín Rossi as the new minister of Defense, and replacing the army’s leading generals, Fernández de Kirchner presented a new budget disposition that allows the acquisition of new military clothing.
She also added that “we arranged the transfer of Military Productions from the planning area to the Ministry of Defense, its natural home”. And revealed, that her administration is “working on new transport wagon”, in reference to Belgrano Cargas railway.
The first raise will be divided in two installments, the first half will be paid in July, while the second part during September.
Fernández de Kirchner concluded explaining the new role of the Armed Forces, while saying that its duty is not only for “the defending of our natural resources, but to contribute to a reindustrialization of the country”.
