Geneticists researching the murder of 16-year-old Ángeles Rawson announced that the DNA found under her fingernails matches that of the superintendent of the building in which she lived. Jorge Mangeri remains the only suspect in the case.
Mangeri’s situation in the case worsens, as investigators believe that Ángeles tried to defend herself by scratching him.
Authorities matched the only male DNA found under the fingernail of her right hand’s index finger and a sample of Mangeri’s genetic profile.
The positive match supports the conclusions reached by Federal Police doctor Alfredo Sapag, who inspected Mangeri’s injuries in the morning of the 15th, moments before being detained.
Mangeri said the injuries the result of him being tortured, but the doctor concluded that they were compatible with the lesions of a struggle, which were later disguised by other self-inflicted wounds
