Ángeles Rawson funeral cortege headed for Pilar cemetery

RawsonThe Funeral cortege heading to a private cemetery in Pilar has already begun. Family and friends of Ángeles Rawson will be paying their last respects to the 16-year old adolescent whose body was found in a CEAMSE sanitary waste landfill earlier this week.

After the service in the Olivos locality of Buenos Aires province, Ángeles’ remains were being taken to the Gardens of Peace cemetery in the provincial district of Pilar.

The autopsy confirmed the girl was strangled to death after going missing on Monday. Her body was found in a CEAMSE facility located in in the José León Suárez district, in the Greater Buenos Aires City.

“The autopsy performed on the victim’s body allowed us to identify that she had not been raped or hurt beyond the injuries that caused her death,” forensic authorities said.

Yesterday, in a sudden twist in the investigation, Buenos Aires City prosecutor Paula Asaro ordered to raid the victim’s house where she lived with her family. During a 4-hour search, police and judicial authorities sought for clues on her murder.
