Judicial workers have launched a 72-hour strike strike in protest of the Government’s judicial reform plans. Demonstrators rally outside the Plaza Lavalle in front of the Tribunales Courthouse.
Leader of the Unionized judicial workers Julio Piumato assured that “the strike doesn’t intend to defend judges”, and said the reform is like “a tsunami in the Argentine democratic system, which moves Justice away from all people.”
Piumato denounced the Government for implementing categories of employees that exipred during the 90s. «This reform favours economic groups showing that the Government defends the employers, not the workers,» he added.
The walkout takes place one day ahead of the so called “18A” anti-government demostration driven by opposition sectors.
