Scioli sets legislative elections’ date for October 27

In tune with the national administration, Buenos Aires Province Governor Daniel Scioli decreed legislative elections for October 27 and set June 22 as the maximum deadline for candidates’ lists presentation.

Deputy Cabinet secretary Juan Pablo Álvarez Echagüe confirmed Scioli’s decision and pointed out that, for the first time in the history of the province, 16-year olds will be allowed to elect their political authorities.

“Scioli gave us directions to open voters’ registers on a special schedule on Saturdays so that all youngsters who are willing to participate can do it,” Álvarez Echagüe explained and added that young voters who have not yet updated their ID cards will have time till April 30.
