Floods: Body of missing woman found in La Plata

The body of Nilda Godoy, 65, which was missing since the torrential downpours that battered Buenos Aires province’s capital La Plata on April 2, was found today in Los Hornos neighborhood.

Deputy Secretary for the BA Province Police’s Criminal Investigations division César Albarracín told reporters that “A female body was found around 10:30 am in Los Hornos area.”

The finding was made at the intersection of 134 and 69 streets by a group of neighbors that were weeding the area. The body was charred as residents of the area had burnt garbage and weeds in the previous days.

Godoy’s body was identified by her brother and his husband.
