Diego Bossio, the head of Anses, today revealed the details of a series of relief measures announced by president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for those affected by the tragic storm and floods which devastated the city of La Plata.
Bossio explained that in order to access these benefits, residents must first complete an application form. Anses representatives will provide these forms in thirteen spots in La Plata and in eleven spots in the City.
The president had announced on Friday several measures to give aid to 153,000 residents who had been affected by the floods. Some of these benefits to be implemented by the government are: retirees and pensioners will receive 4,330 pesos that will be paid in two installments. The payment is expected to reach 70,099 retirees; the benefit per child paid to low income families will be doubled to 640 pesos a month for a period of three months, reaching an estimated 46,740 children and 23,300 families; approximately 2,463 people on unemployment insurance will receive a one-time payment of 1,063 pesos; a special loan from the PROCREAR plan will be provided to approximately 160,000 victims for up to 50,000 pesos each to repair homes; and credit card company Argenta Card will provide additional credit to adult victims for 30 days.
