Newell’s beat Chile’s Universidad

Newell’s Old Boys defeated Chile’s Universidad in Santiago by 2-0, and lead its group at the Libertadores Cup.

Newell’s Maximiliano Rodríguez opened the score at 19′ of the first half of the game, as his team-mate Martín Tonso netted the second goal at 38′ of the second half.
