Argentina received 246,539 foreign tourists in January, 12.4 percent less than the ones who entered the country during the same month in 2012, the Indec national statistics bureau reported.
Foreign tourists generated a total expenditure of 246.3 million dollars during the first month of the year, dropping 22.9 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, the Argentines who travelled abroad increased 5.3 percent, reaching to 231,089, with an expenditure of 215.7 million dollars.
In 2012, Argentina received 2,568,201 tourist, 4.6 percent less than in 2011.
