Tigre drew Colombia’s Millonarios 1-1 in the second leg of the Sudamericana Cup semi-finals, and reached the final round thanks to the aggregate score.
After a goalless tie in Victoria, the team coached by Néstor Gorosito knew that by scoring one goal, the rival was obliged to score twice in order the tie and go on penalties.
Tigre showed it was superior as Mariano Echeverría netted at 20′ of the second half. Millonarios managed to tie by the end of the second half with a goal of Jorge Perlaza, but it was not enough to fight for a place at the finals.
Tigre will now face Brazil’s San Pablo, who defeated Chile’s Universidad Católica.
