Tourists spend $817 million during long weekend

Almost a million people went away for the long weekend in the country, spending close to $817.4 million pesos, according to a report by the Argentine Confederation of the Medium Sized Business (CAME).

The celebration of National Sovereignty Day was very positive for the regional economies, thanks largely to the optimal weather conditions all over the country, the organization said.

The average tourist spent 2.8 days outside of their city and spent, in average, 295 pesos per day.

Stores in popular tourist destinations saw their average profit rise 1.1 percent in comparison to the same weekend last year.
