US Ambassador to Buenos Aires Vilma Martínez assured today that “whoever is elected president will acknowledge the common interests we share with Argentina in many issues,” as her country is holding an election to choose president for the next for years, between incumbent president Barack Obama and Republican contender Mitt Romney.
As the US Embassy in Buenos Aires was holding an open house to celebrate the elections, Martínez addressed reporters and stressed the fact that “bilateral relations between Argentina and US will continue down a good path. “We share common interests in such important issues that whoever is our next president will acknowledge them, including the non proliferation of nuclear weapons and development in scientific affairs,” Martínez added.
She also highlighted the trade relation between both countries is very strong, as there are “over 500 hundred US companies employing over 150 thousand Argentines. We have trade disagreements and we will solve them in the World Trade Organization, because that is the interest of both countries.”
