Injured Nalbandian drops out of US Open

David Nalbandian dropped out of the US Open and his participation in the Davis Cup remains in doubt as the Argentine tennis player tore a muscle in the abdominal area and will need a three week recovery.

The Córdoba-born player was set to debut in the last Grand Slam of the year on Wednesday against fellow Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro.

The Davis Cup semifinak series against the Czech Republic begins September 14th and will be played at the Mary Terán de Weiss stadium in the City neighbourhood of Parque Roca.
