Argentine tennis players Juan Martín del Potro and Juan Mónaco have lost one position each, the ATP World Tour Rankings announced today.
Del Potro is currently the world’s 9th best player while Monaco fell to the 11th place.
Del Potro lost to Czech veteran Radek Stepanek at Rogers Cup tennis in Toronto last week, after the Tandil native had won the bronze medal in the Olympic tennis men’s singles tournament over Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
Likewise, Mónaco was defeated by US Mardy Fish at the Rogers Cup 2012 on Friday.
Swiss Roger Federer tops the rank followed by Djokovic and Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
The Serb will challenge Federer for the No. 1 ATP Ranking this week at the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati. If Federer reaches the final, he will retain the No. 1 spot regardless, but anything less will put him at hand-reach from number two ranked Djokovic.
