Gov’t orders inspection at Edesur

The Electricity Regulations National Entity (ENRE) designated Luis Barletta as the new overseer of the Edesur power company in order to “evaluate and oversee all regular management activities” in order to assure the “normal functioning of the public service,” the Federal Planning Ministry announced.

Barletta will supervise activities in Edesur for a renewable period of 45 days and has the power to hire additional human resources in order to assist him in office.

The decision to designate him came on Thursday after Edesur last Tuesday paid only 12 million pesos out of a total debt of 142 million that the company was expected to pay by then.
