The Malvinas Islands flag was being flown outside UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s residence today, as well as the Foreign Office, in order to mark ‘Liberation Day,’ the day in which the Malvinas War between Argentina and the UK ended in 1982.
In addition to the flag being flown outside number 10 Downing Street in London, other UK government buildings in the area of Whitehall also followed suit including outside Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg offices at number 70 Whitehall, and the Department for Communities and Local Government.
Eric Pickles, the Communities and Local Government Secretary, said: «Today, we pay tribute to the bravery of our Armed Forces thirty years ago in liberating the Falklands from totalitarian aggression.»
