Máximo Kirchner remains in hospital after operation

For the second day, Máximo Kirchner, the elder child and only son of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner remained admitted to the Austral Hospital in Pilar, after undergoing an operation on his right knee yesterday for septic arthritis.
The founder of La Cámpora youth movement is expected to stay in hospital at least for the next 72 hours, in order to recover fully from his operation.
The drama began in the small hours of yesterday when the President’s son was taken from his Patagonian home in the Santa Cruz provincial capital of Río Gallegos to the local hospital, from where the Head of State had him moved to the Austral University Hospital in Pilar aboard the Tango 01, where he recovers today alongside his girlfriend Rocío García.
All presidential activities scheduled for yesterday were suspended in the light of the family health drama; however, Fernández de Kirchner is expected to lead a ceremony in the Bicentenary Museum where she is expected to make several announcements before she leaves for New York tomorrow.
