UCR Sanz: ‘Reposo’s appointment not a closed deal’

Radical senator Ernesto Sanz said today Daniel Reposo’s appointment as the country’s new Prosecutor-General is not a closed deal. According to the opposition Senator, the dices are still rolling for Reposo and his nomination is subjected to “an open finale”.

“Kirchnerites have 42 votes in favour of Reposo’s appointment, six less votes than what they need to instate him”, Sanz remarked today and stressed he expects an “open finale” when Senators hit the floor to vote on Reposo’s appointment next Tuesday.

Likewise, Sanz blasted Reposo for not “having the pre-requisites and moral standards necessary to fill the post.”

During an interview to a local radio station this morning, Sanz reiterated he believed Reposo lied about his résumé and said that “any private company could fire him for that.”

Yesterday, Reposo stood a 10-hour public hearing before the Upper House Agreements committee, whose members finally voted in favour of pushing forward the appointment debate into the Senate’s floor.

During the public hearing, Reposo clashed strongly with members of the opposition. Sanz, along with Reposo, were the protagonists of one the highest moments of tension during when the Radical Party member accused him of “lying again” and threw a document at him that allegedly contradicted what the picked man of the national government had stated minutes before.
