Before entering the Senate, where Daniel Reposo the government’s pick to fill the seat of Prosecutor-general, the Victory Front’s Senator Miguel Ángel Pichetto told reporters that none of the 17 questionings made against the head of the SIGEN are valid as he considered that “He [Reposo] is more than prepared for the job with an extensive professional career.”
Thus, the Senator referred to the latest case repercussions indicating that Reposo was neither qualified –he graduated from Law School with the minimum scores- nor had the career experienced expressed on his resume as investigations revealed that many of his resume’s passages were not entirely true, among other observations made by Senators that reached up to 17.
Likewise, Pichetto emphasized that Reposo meets all the necessary requirements to fulfill the job: “He is a lawyer, is more than 30 years old and has already developed a long time career within the public administration and currently heads the SIGEN.»
Asked about Reposo’s affiliation to the Victory Front and his alleged friendship with Vice President Amado Boudou, who’s currently facing accusations of embezzlement, Pichetto said “If he gets appointed, he’ll have to leave the party and work under a state of total independency”, and added, “Reposo knows Boudou from their time together at the AnSes, but they don’t have a friendship.”
To end, Pichetto said “Today’s is a great opportunity for all Senators to know Reposo in deep. He [Reposo] will show himself as the top-fly professional he is so that all doubts about his designation can be cleared out.”
“If everything goes well today, then we’ll to summon for a debate on Tuesday 12 to discuss the appointment.”
