Supermarket sales climb 16% in April

Supermarket sales climbed 16 percent in April year-on-year, in the midst of the consolidation process between the sales and the means of payment, according to the Indec national statistics bureau.

The official data also stated that the sector has increased 3.6 percent in April compared to the volume registered in the previous month.

Meanwhile, the prices soared 28.4 percent against the fourth month in 2011, and a 1.4 percent increase against March 2012, after reaching an invoice of 8.159 billion pesos.
