‘CFK’s arrogance bothers me,’ Moyano says

CGT secretary general Hugo Moyano seemed confident he would be reelected as the head of the umbrella union in the July 12 elections and once again criticized the Fernández de Kirchner administration by saying that “he is bothered by the President’s arrogance.”

The unionist assured that he is still “awaiting a response” from the President and warned that the Government “wants to replace the organized workers’ movement with other sectors such as the social movements.”

“Those are important as well, but the workers’ movement is the axis here,” Moyano emphasized, and stressed that the Government had changed its public policies from the previous administrations regarding salary discussions.

“It’s unacceptable that we’re not getting any answers regarding such legitimate demands as the universal child allowance or the income tax,” he added.

Regarding his relationship with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, Moyano insisted that she was the one who “unilaterally” decided to break off the relationship with the CGT leader.

“Cristina’s arrogance bothers me. It’s as if having obtained more than fifty percent of the vote grants her the right to do anything. It would be absurd to think that the Government doesn’t respond because I’m leading the CGT. They don’t want me they because I’m a nuisance,” he assured.

“I said that Cristina had lost her way, but I was wrong, because when you lose your way you don’t lose your goals. If you change your way it’s because you lost your goals, and I hope that’s not the case because I don’t think that will be good for us,” he concluded.
