France»s Socialist Party (PS) candidate for the 2012 French presidential election Francois Hollande.
French presidential candidate for the Socialist bloc François Hollande defended his intention to “re-guide” Europe by criticizing the results of the vision applied until now by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and current French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
“Merkel has ran Europe with Sarkozy and we can see the results,” he assured during an interview to a local TV network, where he insisted in his will to renegotiate the new European pact over budget discipline to add new measures to reactivate economy and jobs.
The Socialist candidate highlighted that if he is voted as president on May 6, the run-off, “there will be a change in the orientation of the European construction.”
“I’ll renegotiate the pact, Merkel knows this, and if I’m elected, my first move will be to travel to Germany to transmit the French vote for a different Europe,” he continued.
