Police sources informed that they were “minutes away” from arresting the third and last suspect for the robbery at the house of journalist Pedro “Baby” Etchecopar that ended with a massive shooting and both the radio-man and his son hospitalized.
Police team seized a house in Greater Buenos Aires neighbourhood of González Catán in La Matanza district after an order released by Prosecutor Andrés Zárate. Police officers found the DNI of Horacio Barreto (27), who’s the last of the three robbers that broke into Etchecopar’s home as one was already arrested, while a 24-year old thieve was killed during the shooting.
Meanwhile, San Isidro’s Central Hospital Director Susana Guidi Rojo gave this morning a medical report indicating that “‘Baby’ remains stable with no fever or pain whatsoever.”
Likewise, Guidi Rojo reiterated that the journalist “will undergo leg surgery as doctor will try to reconstruct part of his knee-cab”, where he received one of three shots.
Asked about Etchecopar’s son, Federico, who also received several shots during a robbery, the doctor said “He will remain at the intensive care unit, and under the effects of an induced coma. Anyway he’s showing good signs of recovery as there’s been a reduction of the psychotropics supply.”
Etchecopar and his 24-year old son were shot on Monday when three armed robbers broke into their house in Northern Greater Buenos Aires district of San Isidro, and the journalist started a massive shooting inside the bed-room where they were held captives by the robbers.
