CTA leader calls for national strike

The leader of the Argentine Workers Union (CTA), Pablo Micheli, called for a national strike to be held either in late March or early April, and announced that he hoped “CGT leader Hugo Moyano will join them”, as he marched from the intersection of 9 de Julio and Belgrano avenues towards the Labour Ministry to claim for wage hikes and an end to the income tax.

“We will hold the national strike in either late March or April and we hope the CGT joins us as well. But even if they do not, we will still move forward with it,” Micheli assured as he led a rally in front of the Labour Ministry.

Former soldiers active during the Malvinas War also took part of the rally, as they demand to qualify as war veterans and receive pension benefits.

Later, City teachers marched from City Hall to the City Education Ministry, to protest against the closure of 221 school grades.
