Judge Nidia Cicero ruled that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s administration must guarantee security at the subway stations with the Federal Police until April 1st and also summoned National and City Governments for an hearing in order to reach an agreememnt.
Cicero’s rulling favoured Subterráneos Buenos Aires (Sbase) and accepted the precautionary measure filed on March 5th, in which the City claimed that the National Government must keep the services provided by the Federal Police.
Judge Cicero also summoned Security Ministry officials, Sbase authorities and Metrovías managers to a March 15th audience to reach an agreement.
In case an agreement over the subway service transfer is not reached, Mayor Mauricio Macri’s administration aims to achieve that the subway patrol returns once again to the Federal Police.
There are two other precautionary measures still being analyzed in Judge Claudia Rodríguez Vidal’s court. One was filed by the National Government, seeking the City to take over the subwat, while the other one, filed by Macri’s administration, aims that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner manageds the subway.
