The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during January dropped 6.4 percent compared to the same month in 2011 and totalled 270,991 people, according to a government report.
The Indec national statistics bureau stated that the expense of tourists was of 307.5 million dollars during the first month of the year, 18.3 percent less than in January 2011.
Most of the tourists that visited Argentina were from Brazil (84,068), 12 percent less than the volume registered the same month last year.
During this month, 219,412 Argentine citizens travelled abroad, a 11.6 percent higher than the figures reported the previous year.
