Vidal: ‘We won’t take control of the Subway while there’s no deal with Nat’l Gov’t’

Deputy Mayor for Buenos Aires City María Eugenia Vidal, made it clear today that the Macri administration had still not taken full responsibility of the subway system and were not planning to “as long as there was a disagreement” with the national Government over the works that are lacking.
In a radio interview today Vidal discussed the fact that what was passed across to them “was not handed over in impeccable condition,” further stating that the pending works “should have been sorted out a long time ago.”
“What we did was open a 90-day period of negotiations, because according to the national government it was possible to carry out the handover within a week,” the deputy mayor stated.
“In order to prevent tragedies and to be able to take full responsibility of the service, we need to align the issue of security and works,” Vidal stated.
