President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner continues her stay in Santa Cruz province and in an unusual move, she took a walk in downtown Río Gallegos, alongside her private secretary and her daughter Florencia’s pug.
Right before her 59th birthday, which she will celebrate in El Calafate next Friday, the Head of State was photographed along the streets of Santa Cruz’s capital. The last time this happened was 5 days before Néstor Kirchner death on October 27th, 2010.
Around 11 am, residents of Jardín neighbourhood in Río Gallegos were surprised when they saw the President walking along the wide sidewalk. Fernández de Kirchner wore her usual head to toe black (leather coat, pants and hat), as she continues to mourn her late husband.
She was accompanied by one of her new private secretaries, 29 year old Federico Aguirre, who was appointed in December. He runs the President’s agenda and assists her in all ceremonies and rallies she heads.
