River Plate’s coach says team is ‘ready for first division’

Almeyda assured today his team is ready to play on the first division of the Argentine football league.
Coach Matías Almeyda assured today his team is ready to play on the first division of the national football league. “We are ready for the first division,” reiterated Almeyda today after yesterday’s classic match against Boca Juniors.
Although River lost the game ( Boca 1 – 0 River Plate), Almeyda considered it to be a positive performance. “We played against the undefeated champion. Our last games show we are ready to go back to the first division. We have played well by pressuring a tough adversary.”
“We lacked consistency and accuracy,” he explained but said he is hopeful the team is in the right path. “Those performances give me hope we are playing well. We have our own identity and through this path we will succeed,” Almeyda remarked.
“It would have been great to beat Boca. It would have given people – those who work with their souls – a lot of joy, especially in this moment”, he added.
