Labour ministry, teamsters resume meeting over Santa Cruz conflict

Following the threat made by Pablo Moyano to organize a ‘massive protest rally’ on Friday in Plaza de Mayo, the teamsters belonging to the CGT umbrella union were sitting down for negotiation talks today at the Labour Ministry to try to ease the work conflicts linked with the 200 drivers of the outsourced gas company Camuzzi.

The subsecretary for Labour Relations, Álvaro Ruiz was leading the meeting with the truckers and company workers at the Labour Ministry today. The talks are began around 12.30 pm this afternoon at the Ministry’s central branch along Alem at 650.

A mass of CGT unionists is expected to gather in front of the building in support of the CGT leader Hugo Moyano’s son.

The union workers yesterday were protesting in the city neighbourhood of Puerto Madero, against the dismissal of workers from Camuzzi after it decided not to renew a contract with Correo Sur and accused the provincial police in Trelew of “repressing” a protest staged by the sacked employees last week.
