Acting President Amado Boudou warned oil company Repsol YPF that the National Government “won’t allow the discrimination of prices” in the country, following an accusation on Monday of alleged “abuse of their domination positions in the fuel markets.”
Boudou adressed the issue during his speech on a rally presenting the Mar del Plata Industrial Exposition, which will take place in September.
The former Economy Minister assured the national Government “respects the people’s vote and doesn’t accommodate to corporation’s whims, which has made a difference in Argentina. He also said «the Kirchnerite administrations have accepted history’s challenges and have honoured democracy, which means to govern for those who have voted.”
At the end of his speech, Boudou gave a strong warning to the Spanish fuel company. “This government works with joy, but shows its serious side when corporations seek to ride roughshod over our people’s wellbeing. Thus, Repsol, we won’t allow price discrimination in Argentina.”
Industry Minister Débora Giorgi, Buenos Aires province Governor Daniel Osvaldo Scioli, Government’s Chief-of-staff Oscar Parrilli, the Head of the Lower House Julián Domínguez, Trasnport Secretary Juan Pablo Schiavi, Public Works Secretary José López, Presidential spokesmand Alfredo Scoccimarro and Argentine Industrial Union head José Ignacio de Mendiguren accompanied Boudou in Mar del Plata.
