Fernández urges Macri to ‘explain’ alleged campaign ties to ‘pimp’

Senator Aníbal Fernández urged City Mayor Mauricio Macri to “come out and explain” what is behind the recent accusations made by the La Alameda NGO, that say an alleged pimp was a large contributor to his 2011 reelection campaign.

“Someone has to come out and explain this situation,” Fernández said, adding that “there are certain activities that the City Mayor should in no way be connected to.”

Fernández said that so far Macri has not commented on the recent accusation, but President Fernández de Kirchner “had to come out and explain why she never had cancer. It’s a paradox.”

“This matter is beyond embarrassing,” he stressed.

He also accused the media of looking away from the controversy, saying “we’ve got the City Mayor in direct contact with a pimp, a man who employs women in a context of human trafficking and still everything is fine.”

“Someone has to come out and explain this,” he stated.

On Wednesday, the La Alameda NGO accused alleged pimp and former SIDE spy Raúl Luis Martins Coggiola of “financing Mauricio Macri’s 2011 reelection campaign.”

Charges against Martins were brought up by Martins’ daughter, Lorena, who accused her father of leading a prostitution and human trafficking network.
