City Mayor Mauricio Macri once again asked the National Government for a “reasonable schedule” in the transfer of the subway’s management and assured that his administration “is glad to take over the service.”
“We believe the transfer should be done gradually, so we hope we can come up with a suitable schedule we can agree on in the next few days,” he said.
Tha National Government has been pressuring the City to complete the management transfer before January 2.
“We need to sit down and discuss a reasonable schedule for the transfer. We’re glad to do it, now more than ever. And we hope we can the space needed to do so,” he continued.
“The subway is a public transportation service that is very important for the City, but if does not offer the kind of service that the people deserve, especially on a day as hot as today. The lack of a proper ventilation system and a high frequency are some of the things that still need to be improved,” he concluded.
