Upon arriving at Buenos Aires international airport Ezeiza, Argentine soccer player Lionel Messi praised Brazilian Santos player Neymar by saying he was “welcomed to join the Barcelona team,” where Messi plays.
The Argentine was referring to rumors Neymar asked the Barcelona coach to join the team. “He is a great player and those who join the team are always welcome,” he remarked.
“He said some important things about me, which is not usual for people like him. I am very thankful.”
Messi also rejoiced over the fact he was nominated for a Olimpia de Oro award as one of the year’s best athletes in Argentina. “I am proud to be amongst the finalists,” he stressed.
“It was a great year in a personal and collective level, now I want to enjoy my vacation in Argentina and finish this spectacular year,” said Messi before heading to Rosario, his city of birth.
