Martínez, is charged with the “voluntary homicide” of his girlfriend and with the aggravated murder of Santos’ mother, her daughter, and a friend.
La Plata’s judge Guillermo Atencio issued a ruling today asking for the preventive custody of Osvaldo Martínez. Martínez, is charged with the “voluntary homicide” of his girlfriend Bárbara Santos and with the aggravated murder of Santos’ mother, 63, her daughter, 11, and a friend, 30, who was visiting.
Judicial sources say Atencio ruled in favor of the public prosecutor’s Alvaro Garganta request made last week. Garganta believes the crime was motivated by relationship problems between Martínez and Bárbara Santos.
More than 20 images registered by CCTV cameras in the area placed the white Fiat Uno driven by Martínez at the scene of the crime.
Witness say Barbara Santos was welcomed by the suspect at her house at the 28th Street on the night of the murders and friends of the victim attested Martinéz’ controlling personality.
The suspect, however, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
