At least 17 people, were injured this afternoon following a crash between a locomotive and an alighted Roca line train at Temperley station in the Buenos Aires Province, officials informed.
The accident occurred when a locomotive crashed into the rear part of the passenger-filled Roca line train, informed Lomas de Zamora fireman, Gustavo Liuzzi.
At least seventeen people were moved to a local hospital to be treated, however there were no major injuries reported, informed the firemen to the press.
The locomotive was being maneuvered in order to be attached to another formation of train carriages, to later be used for journeys, when for reasons yet to be investigated; it crashed into the other train.
“The impact was light, as the machine was moving at less than 20 kilometres per hour,” explained Eduardo Montenegro, spokesperson for the Management Unit for Rail Emergencies (UGOFE).
