Al Wasl coach Diego Armando Maradona.
Diego Maradona, currently employed as coach of the Al Wasl team in the UAE, has been suspended from participating in the next three matches and given a $2,700 fine by the UAE Football Federation after engaging in an altercation with another coach.
The punishment was decided by the Federation’s disciplinary committee due to a strong discussion that Maradona had with the Al Ain coach, Cosmin Olaroiu, who was also fined.
A few days ago, Maradona said that referees were conspiring against him and his team.
“Referees are always making decisions that affect me and my team,” he assured.
Maradona was referring to a recent decision by the disciplinary committee, in which they decided to suspend one of his players, Darwish Ahmed for “inadequate behaviour” during a match against Al Shabab last December 3rd.
