Foreign tourism drops 2.6% in September

The amount of tourists that arrived in Argentina during September dropped 2.6 percent compared to the same month last year and totalled 220,302 people, according to a government report.
The Indec national statistics bureau stated that in September, 184,915 Argentine citizens travelled abroad, 16.5 percent higher than the figures reported during the same month in 2010.
Foreign tourists spent 293.2 million dollars in the country, 18.5 percent more than September 2010, while the expenditure of the Argentines abroad reached 275.1 million dollars, a 21.8 percent increase year-on-year.
