San Isidro’s Criminal court rejected the release requests presented by the lawyers of Sergio Binello, Guillermo Bártoli, Horacio García Belsunce, Juan Ramón Gauvry Gordon and Juan Carlos Hurtig, all convicted on charges of covering up María Marta García Belsunce’s murder.
The Court dismissed the release requests of the detainees, who were handed sentences ranging between 3 and five years effective imprisonment, on charges of covering up María Marta García Belsunce’s murder on October 26th, 2002.
Previously, the Appeal court denied the habeas corpus plea presented by the same five people, who were convicted last Friday.
María Marta García Belsunce, who was the head of the local Missing Children association, was shot six times on her head at her home in the Carmel gated community in the Greater Buenos Aires area of Pilar, in 2002. Her widower, Carlos Carrascosa, was found guilty of the murder and currently purges a life imprisonment sentence in the Campana prison.
