Nigeria: Electoral Commission Officials Visit Argentina to Observe Elections

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (INEC) have arrived Buenos Aires, Argentina, to observe the country’s election slated for Sunday.
A statement on Sunday said that INEC’s Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, who was represented by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Lagos State, Mr Adekunle Ogunmola, led the delegation which was received by Nigerian diplomats in Argentina.
Other members of the delegation are the Special Assistant to the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Mohammed Kuna, and the Deputy Director (Election Monitoring and Observation), Mr. David Asemo.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Argentina officially invited Jega to participate in the election observation as part of the international visitors programme organised by the National Electoral Commission (NEC).

In a letter of invitation, Ambassador Guillermo Oliveri of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Argentina said that the Electoral Commission organised a programme that afforded it the opportunity to interact with the media, NGOs and representatives of political parties participating in the election.
