Vélez Sársfield drew Chile’s Universidad Católica 1-1 and reached the quarter finals of the Sudamericana Cup at the José Amalfitani Stadium. In the first leg played in Santiago, the Argentine team won 2-0.
Gonzalo Sepúlveda netted Universidad Católica’s goal at 29′ of the first half of the game, but Vélez’s Fernando Ortíz managed to tie the score at 31′ of the second half.
