Teachers across Buenos Aires city schools began their 48-hour strike today.Teachers from the Union of Education Workers (UTE) alongside Ademys, UDA; CAMYP, SEDEBA and AMET unions began the planned 48-hour teaching strike in Buenos Aires City schools today.
The strike went ahead, despite National Education Minister Alberto Sileoni’s attempt to call for negotiation talks to be “used as a fundamental tool to resolve conflict.”
Today teacher union representatives came out to say that their strike against the city government’s decision to change the Classification Boards for teachers had the support of “98 percent of teachers.”
