Presidential candidate Alberto Rodríguez Saá said that he “shouldn’t take responsibility for the crisis within the Radical Party,» as a result of his deal with gubernatorial candidate Francisco de Narváez, and once again blasted his former ally Eduardo Duhalde.
The Santa Luis province Governor referred to the electoral stage two weeks ahead of the presidential elections, assuring most candidates are “doing nothing” because they believe the electoral race is already defined.
“Most of them are doing nothing, excepting De Narváez and yours truly, a presidential candidate. The Argentine political culture, media outlets and other political parties have taken the election from centre stage, in an absolutely anti-democratic move,” Rodríguez Saá said.
The Federal Commitment presidential candidate also blasted fellow candidate Ricardo Alfonsín.
“In San Juan province he told people not to vote for him if they didn’t want to, but that it was important that they supported the Radical Party. The crisis in that party is no my responsibility,” he warned.
Rodríguez Saá first stepped out with new political partner De Narváez on Friday, in order to support his gubernatorial bid.
Meanwhile, he once again blasted Popular Front candidate Eduardo Duhalde, whom he once held a deal with and earlier accused him of having a secret pact with President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner’s administration. “Duhalde is a despicable person. He knows perfectly well that I have no secret deal with the Government to speed up a San Luis trial, something which he doesn’t even mention,” he concluded.
