‘We’re lacking dollars and that creates uncertainty,’ Economist Nicolás Dujovne

Economist Nicolás Dujovne visited the studios of the Ambito de Debate TV show, and assured that Argentina “is lacking dollars, and this creates uncertainty.” He also considered that “the current exchange rate is less competitive.”

“There are doubts regarding how currency exchange policy will be from now on,” he said. “Today we have a currency exchange rate that is considered expensive and less competitive.”

He also referred to the current European crisis, assuring that the EU “has shown a disconcerting lack of ability” to tackle it.

“We now know more about this crisis, but I believe we’re still heading the wrong way. If you inject the banks with some capital while the value of actives is uncertain, then we don’t know how much capital we must really inject,” he concluded.
