Lower House fails to muster quorum to debate income tax floor increase

The Lower House failed to muster the necessary quorum to hold a special debate on the increase of the income tax floor and the session was canceled, after only 85 of the needed 129 lawmakers made it into the building.

Shortly after 2.30, the Lower House head Eduardo Fellner adjourned the session due to lack of quorum.

Radical PartyLawmaker Ricardo Gil Lavedra questioned “the absence of the Victory Front lawmakers,” but admitted that all blocs struggled to gather their members due to “an electoral reason.”

Among the 85 present lawmakers there were members of all opposition parties, but were far from reaching the 129 lawmakers needed to debate the bill.
